RAPHAELLA 4.jpegSinger, producer and songwriter Raphaella follows on from her latest release ‘Turn Around’ earlier this year, co-produced with Brendan Grieve (Sam Smith) with a glorious, slow-burning rework of the Clash’s “I’m Not Down”.
By even her standards, Raphaella has had an especially busy year in the studio collaborating with heavyweight talent including Rudimental, MNEK, Steel Banglez, MIST, and Gorgon City.
An in-demand producer and songwriter in her own right with Spotify plays on her tracks at over 60M streams and counting, Raphaella the artist has picked up support across some of the biggest tastemakers in the industry in Billboard, The405, CLASH, HUNGER and WONDERLAND.
Raphaella now unleashes her latest offering with a drop at the end of the year to remind the blogosphere just what the hype is all about. Bringing her own slow-burning, expansive take on the Clash classic, Raphaella utilises the ebbing instrumentals to highlight a truly mesmeric vocal.
Speaking on the track, Raphaella states: “I fell in love with The Clash and the ‘London Calling’ album in my final year of University. I was pretty badly bullied for years growing up, and the lyrics so resonated with me, I felt now was a perfect time to revisit the cover. It’s always been close to my heart.”
With radio support from BBCR1Xtra’s Mistajam and DJ Target for her previous releases, “I’m Not Down’” serves as a reminder of Raphaella’s immense talent and what looks to be another pivotal year for the London/ Persian triple threat.
