Rodrael is a singer/songwriter from the East Bay Area. He started writing songs at 14, while attending performing arts high school in Oakland. Studying creative writing and music, he continued to cultivate his journey as a young artist in college. Attending University of California Santa Cruz (UC Santa Cruz), Rodrael joined radical political spaces that integrated social justice with the performing arts. Studying political movements of oppressed communities, he understood the transformative and healing power of music. Graduating from UC Santa Cruz in 2013, with a double major in both Psychology and Sociology he sought a career as a community artist/teacher- simultaneously, with the goal of working with marginalized youth of color.giphy11In 2014, he attended California State University Northridge pursuing a Master’s Degree in Music Industry Administration furthering his understanding of the music business- dually, with the goal of taking this knowledge back to his students.
While in Los Angeles, Rodrael interned for Universal Records at Hidden Beach Experiences (a hybrid Soul and Jazz label under Universal Records). At Hidden Beach, his main role was leading the social media team- particularly, for company live shows. Additional, Rodrael interned for American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishing (ASCAP) two years before graduating from his program at CSU Northridge.

es to bring a fresh and uplifting “vibe” and “feel” to R&B/Pop music. He attributes his EP to Black and Brown resilience and survival. Moreover, it takes listeners on a journey of his personal life on “Show Em” with witty lyrics: “From poverty and still finished college.” Contrast, on “One By One” he addresses his perspective on police brutality.
