A L I V E-3.jpeg2016 saw a number of breakthrough milestones for emerging UK singer/songwriter Cat Delphi: being nominated for Best Songwriter and Best Female Solo at the British Unsigned Music Awards, having created serious hype self-releasing her debut EP ‘FIRE’ earlier in the year, premiered with CLASH.

She would go on to be playlisted on BBC Radio 2 and gain support from BBC Introducing South, seeing ‘Track of the Day’ features for a further two tracks from that EP and debut airplay on KISS FM. Meanwhile, Cat would perform her first headline show at the 02 Academy Islington and consolidate her One to Watch status with a debut performance on Jools Holland Presents.

Now following her critically-acclaimed first offering of 2017 ‘Message’, the young singer/songwriter continues her output with ‘Alive’. Another consummate and expansive, piano-led ballad. Speaking on the track, Cat states: “It depicts how a lot of us feel behind closed doors – like we don’t have the strength just to get through the day sometimes and life just seems too hard. But then there’s that one person, it can be anyone, that is your backbone and makes you forget about the bad times and kind of gives you a reason to live.”

This is an artist creating haunting, engaging music in the vein of London Grammar or a pared-down, early Lorde; ‘Alive’ continues to build to the hype that there’s undoubtedly a young talent here ready for the spotlight.
