Rapper Dylan Williams has released his debut project ‘DRiP.
Creating music that acts as a snapshot of his life, Dylan takes listeners on a musical journey that spans the course of the summer.
Dylan has been making music long before he was discovered as a model, and the project is often an open and honest depiction of navigating through life as a rapper and black model from South London. From walking catwalks in New York and Paris, to returning to London to finish his education, the struggle of the come up is clear in songs like 23.30 in Novikov and Watch Me Hustle.
Stand out tracks Scales and So Nice, So Nice offer up a fresh vibe; a combination of bassy synths and afrobeats influences that run through the project. Summer in Atlanta and Weekdays & Weekends are laid out like diary entries, introspective and determined.
2016 has been a great year musically for Dylan. He’s opened up for cult American rapper and songwriter Sy Ari Da Kid, had numerous video premiers on leading platforms SBTV and Link Up TV, and amassed over 100k plays on his personal soundcloud. He rounded off the year with his very own sold out headline show at Birthdays. 2017 is set to be the biggest year he’s had!
“I’m talking about balancing my life and whatever is around me. I touch on subjects that are close to me. Problems I face with the opposite sex, family issues, my reality and my surroundings. I see, feel and write.”
